Will This Flooring EVER Be Done?? - Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Flooring, flooring, FLOORING!! That's how I feel at this point, after working with the hardwood flooring for four straight days. Oh well. It seems to be going much faster now that we've got our system for installing down pat.

We went out to the house and installed about 80 square feet of flooring. Geoff and Laura came out and we put Geoff to work. Mom was working on taking the nails out of the last three bundles of wood and she said that she wasn't quiting until they were all done...and she finished them all. That was a big job, and it's now done. One less thing to worry about now. We worked until about 10:30 and now just have about two feet (not sqaure feet) left to do before the dining room is completely finished. Hopefully on Wednesday night we will finish the dining room off and start on the entry way and the hallway. Ryan has a seminar in Portage on Thursday so we have to be at work at 7:30 Thursday morning...that may dictate how much time we spend at the house on Wednesday night.

Norm the Painter finished painting around the trim upstairs and all of downstairs except for the living room, kitchen, and dining room, and he will start rolling the walls on Wednesday. We want to get at least the dining room done for him so that he can start painting that whenever he's ready.

"Plumber" the Geothermal Guy was there as well, putting the antifreeze into the geothermal loops, and he said he'd be back on Wednesday to do something or other.

Here are pictures of the Geothermal unit and the ducting as well as the HRV that are all now in place:

Everything seems to be going very well, and hopefully our luck continues and we always have someone working on the house so that we can move in sometime in November. I'll keep my fingers crossed...
