We were babysitting Ryan's DIL (Dog-In-Law - my parents' dog) this weekend, and we were also having a birthday dinner to celebrate all of the July birthdays in the family (Ryan's Mom, Ryan's Granny, Ryan's Uncle, and me), so we had to come home Saturday morning to start getting things ready for dinner. We stopped by the house on the way there and opened up the windows so that the house would dry out from all of the rain. Ryan's sweeping of the water into the basement seemed to have worked well, but we opened up the windows anyway, knowing that we were going to be bringing his family back to the house to show it off.
Ryan's brother showed up and said that they had been at the house and the guys were working on the roof. We thought that that was pretty good of them, to be working on a Saturday.
It started to rain later in the day, so Ryan decided that he would go to the house to close the windows we had opened earlier and take his grandma and his uncle to see it. Before they came back, his Aunt got there, and wanted to go and see the house, so I told her that we could go after supper to see it.
When we got there after supper, the guys were working on the shingles. We again, were quite impressed that on a Saturday night, they were out working on the shingles. Debbie (Ryan's aunt) said she was impressed that they weren't out at the bar...to which the guys laughed, and I said that it's better that they go to the bar after working...rather than before...At least they were smart, well one of them was anyway. One was tethered to the roof somewhere, and the other guy was just walking around, with nothing around his waist to stop him if he slipped and fell. Crazy!
